Im Hinterhof stand ein BMW Oldtimer.
Die Klinkergebäude darum herum und der herabfallende Schnee erzeugten eine wilde aber auch sanfte Szenerie. Es begann gerade zu dämmern und das Wochenende stand wie das Auto vor der Tür. Ein Hauch Weihnachten lag in der Luft. In den Fenstern brannten Lichter. Was passierte dann?

In FRED’s Guest Mix für die neue Sendung #74 fühlen wir uns ein bisschen wie auf „Gilles Zeitschiff“ dem Album von den Sternenmädchen (feat. Klaus Schulze & Brian Barritt) veröffentlicht 1974 auf dem Label Kosmische Kuriere. Der Track „Swiss High Lands“ kam mir davon beim Hören in den Sinn, allerdings befinden wir uns bei FRED @fred______em in den Austrian Low Lands und in der Haupstadt Wien.

In der Stadt mit dem besten Trinkwasser und der besten Musik für „Alkoholismus und Liebeskummer“ (Andrea Ida). (Siehe Ausgabe #50) Dort lebt FRED seit kurzem Zeitraum in einer musikalischen Landschaft mit runden Ecken und Kanten und erschafft uns eine Welt aus Jazz und Field Recordings: In Ausgabe #74 trifft Musique Conqrete auf Klassik, Obscuritäten auf Jazz und Acid auf Buchteln und Topfengulatsche.

Ich habe FRED zu Beginn in einem Interview gefragt, wie denn die Wasserqualität aktuell ist und was sie sich zu Weihnachten wünscht. Weitere Geheimnisse über Mehlspeisen im Interview zu Anfang der Sendung.

Und wenn ihr die Sendung mögt teilt, erzählt euren Freundinnen davon oder lasst Kommis da, denn schöner als Liebeskummer ist geteilte Musik.

Wir sprachen über Lanzarote, Zeit, Landschaftsmalerei, Utopien, New York und darüber wie Bilder entstehen und wie daraus die Ausstellung wird, die heute eröffnet. Eine Sendung wie ein Podcast über das deutscheste aller Gefühle, die Sehnsucht der deutschen Romantik, den Mond und die Sterne, Rotensol im Moosalbtal, Berlin und Karlsruhe, Selbstliebe und das erste Kippchen auf der Aussichtsplattform. A new episode of Holidays on Mars on Querfunk. We Hit Episode #68 which connects to the April show which was about the @kleinundhaarigFestival in the idyllic Black Forest town Bad Wildbad. News:  The team had to change the program according to some circumstance that they already put on an Instagram post on their page and about that the festival team will give a short update at the beginning of this show. Btw. I think the line up is still really nice and it’s worth to grab one of the last tickets available for the festival.

Beside the little update part the main part of HOM #68 will be a live set by @farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from Vienna recorded at the 2023 edition of the KuH Festival. I promise it’s nice!

@farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr has been producing dubstep-tunes before many youngsters in Austria even heard of it. Not long after that he became a regular in Viennas Techno-scene and ended up going all the way back to

The first artwork was created by human intelligence and the others by artificial intelligence.

In science fiction story’s there is often named a specious as „higher intelligence“ which should define extraterrestrial life from space that is seen as more intelligent than humans - might be easy in some cases ;) - these days we find ourselves talking about artificial intelligence humans created. What is intelligence ? The amount we know about our life or the way we deal with what we know about the ecosystem we live in? If this describes intelligence the spaceships and robots travel to space to find the solution we can’t give ourselves on this beautiful planet earth.

In Germany we call this mix a „Vorgeschmack“ . So Cologne people when the mix is finished its a perfect time to dress, brush your teeth and check your friends to go to JAKI. This will be a quite present experience.

- Dj Death -

Maybe I'm wrong, but let me tell you my story about Dj Death. To me his name describes what happened accidentally back in April 2020 when djing immediately died. I wonder why Netflix didn't started a documentary series about this called "The big Dj Death". So what this guy from Hamburg did was releasing a Various Artist Compilation on his own label enbeezee in 2021 beside his own single releases on the Hamburg PAL label. Right now he found a perfect match to his dj-alias in releasing his newest music on the label "Doom Chakra Tapes" soon. 
I'm very happy that he took the time to record a mix for the Holidays on a dead planet (as NASA still did not found life on Mars) radioshow. And I had the pleasure to ask him what the real story is behind his name.

And that’s also why I start this text with this visual aspect, because this is what Sergio does in his mix. I don’t want to spoiler, so…It’s about somebody sitting in front of Elektro Mueller. Sein Album “Tarifzone Liebe” erschien dieses Frühjahr. Eine Sendung wie ein Podcast über das deutscheste aller Gefühle, die Sehnsucht der deutschen Romantik, den Mond und die Sterne, Rotensol im Moosalbtal, Berlin und Karlsruhe, Selbstliebe und das erste Kippchen auf der Aussichtsplattform. Natürlich mit viel Ironie und “Handyhass”. Aber Hass ist natürlich nie gut.

A new episode of Holidays on Mars on Querfunk. We Hit Episode #68 which connects to the April show which was about the @kleinundhaarigFestival in the idyllic Black Forest town Bad Wildbad. News:  The team had to change the program according to some circumstance that they already put on an Instagram post on their page and about that the festival team will give a short update at the beginning of this show. Btw. I think the line up is still really nice and it’s worth to grab one of the last tickets available for the festival.

Beside the little update part the main part of HOM #68 will be a live set by @farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from Vienna recorded at the 2023 edition of the KuH Festival. I promise it’s nice!

@farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr has been producing dubstep-tunes before many youngsters in Austria even heard of it. Not long after that he became a regular in Viennas Techno-scene and ended up going all the way back to
bass. Farr is an og raver, drummer, self-tought musical theorist, production wizard and co-host of the renowned “Euphoria” club nights. There is no doubt that all those skills add up in his DJ and live sets and will make you lose your plot on the dancefloor.

This session is about the future sound of the 90s. Musicians are constantly pushing limits and moving borders in search of relations of sounds that haven’t been related yet - this makes sound sounding out of time, futuristic.

The first artwork was created by human intelligence and the others by artificial intelligence.

In science fiction story’s there is often named a specious as „higher intelligence“ which should define extraterrestrial life from space that is seen as more intelligent than humans - might be easy in some cases ;) - these days we find ourselves talking about artificial intelligence humans created. What is intelligence ? The amount we know about our life or the way we deal with what we know about the ecosystem we live in? If this describes intelligence the spaceships and robots travel to space to find the solution we can’t give ourselves on this beautiful planet earth.

This show has two special features, on the one hand it was recorded by Andrea Ida from Vienna and on the other hand it is already the 50th show. For the anniversary, the Viennese Andrea recorded a mix that is as beneficial as a lavender pillow spray. Her music selection from records from the last 51 years (just past 50 ;)) begins with „Light of Darkness“ by Silent Moon, continues into the „Blue Room“ of Die Weltraumforscher and makes a detour to „Mars“ by Embla Quickbeam before she arrives at her destination in The Doubling Riders‘ „Chinese Rain“. In the interview at the beginning of the show you will learn, among other things, what kind of music extraterrestrials listen to and why the Kaiserschmarrn tastes best in Vienna. For Holidays on Mars #49 - AMSL (@amsllamsll) recorded a clubby and warm groovy mix. She will today play at JAKI in Cologne with Bradley Zero, Label Head of Rhythm Section International and Aroma Pitch. In Germany we call this mix a „Vorgeschmack“ . So Cologne people when the mix is finished its a perfect time to dress, brush your teeth and check your friends to go to JAKI. This will be a quite present experience.

Future: When Amelie will do her 2nd mix for Holidays on Mars I will ask her about her future visions: What is the most futuristic piece of clothes and what is the material ? Does she think there is life in space and if yes how do they dress? Which piece of clothes would you take with you when leaving earth?

- Dj Death -

Maybe I'm wrong, but let me tell you my story about Dj Death. To me his name describes what happened accidentally back in April 2020 when djing immediately died. I wonder why Netflix didn't started a documentary series about this called "The big Dj Death". So what this guy from Hamburg did was releasing a Various Artist Compilation on his own label enbeezee in 2021 beside his own single releases on the Hamburg PAL label. Right now he found a perfect match to his dj-alias in releasing his newest music on the label "Doom Chakra Tapes" soon. 
I'm very happy that he took the time to record a mix for the Holidays on a dead planet (as NASA still did not found life on Mars) radioshow. And I had the pleasure to ask him what the real story is behind his name.

If you are interested check out „Sisters with transistors“ on arte because I know that this months guest of Holidays on Mars: SERGIO GIL (@sergio.gl_alo ) would recommend this documentation to you too. And that’s also why I start this text with this visual aspect, because this is what Sergio does in his mix. I don’t want to spoiler, so…It’s about somebody sitting in front of Elektro Mueller. Somehow cinematic, somewhat nostalgic, a space to escape —— somewhere — for an hour. Thanks Sergio.
